- Ink exploded? - Yes, under certain circumstances laserjet cartridges can explode like this. - High heat (something wrong with the printer)
- Third party (Crappy made ones heat up and eject toner out of weak spots)
 - By looking at this image though, it was most likely caused by: - Waste tank was full and someone reset the toner settings, causing air to be pumped into the waste tank until it popped like this.
 - TL;DR: Quit being a cheapass company and replace your toner cartridges when it says to. - BTW, this is a circa 2000s Canon imageRUNNER 3200 series. Bets are that this image is also 20 years old. - Sincerely, someone who has worked on laserjets since Compaq Printers were a thing. - Oh wowzers, I only know of Compaq from a couple of old laptops my dad has. I’m sorry if I just made you feel old o.o
