I think this is more of a knock on effect of people not really interacting with their neighbors in favor of digital intersections with people that are geographically diapered if they’re interacting with people at all


The problem is outside of like, China, most places don’t have much economic leverage against the US.
Kind of an oversimplified view I think. Russia did and still is experiencing shortages and economic impacts from US sanctions particularly for tech related things, but a lot of the resource gaps are just being filled by other countries also under sanctions.
So it forms kind of a split economy, if you subtract all the shell companies and obfuscation techniques used to circumvent sanctions anyway 🤷♂️
