mystiques shapeshift seems weaker, than let say changelings they can turn into anything,even fire or reflective surfaces(DS9) and turn thier body into weapons, also immunity to telepathy, also the technobabble goes when the changeling shapeshifts, they move mass to a pocket dimension, or store energy to change to various forms.
